The Knights of Bretonnia are renowned all over the Old World for their chivalry and virtues. But sometimes the constant loneliness and stress of facing death every day breaks the pure spirit of a knight during a long and bloody campaign and the woman´s touch seems like the only comfort left for them. So and now and then a noble sires a bastard child with a wench of a wayside inn or a handsome peasant maiden met on the road.

Sometimes if a son is born and he is of good health the noble might recongnise the child as his bastard and offer shelter for such offspring in his household.

Such illegitimate sons have a wierd place in Bretonnian society – although loathed by nobility they are still considered to carry some blue blood and thus treated better than common peasant scumm. Although most of these bastards find their path in pursuing mercantile careers found unfit for nobles, some end up in Bretonnian military.

Fitzronald, a bastard son of a minor baron from Lyonesse is one of such men. He can be hired by any Bretonnian lord to be a training master for lord´s men-at-arms, and the word among peerage is that he does a good job in turning peasant rabble into descent infantry usable for unknightly missions on the battlefield.

Fitzroland hopes, that if he pushes his men to their limits and shows personal valour worthy of a knight on the battlefield he might caught his master´s attention and be knighted one day. His masters on the other hand are not keen on such prospect and tend to send Fitzronald in the most hopeless and bloody combats on the field. So far he has survived...

One men-at-arms unit in Your army may include Fitzroland instead of it´s Yeoman.

Rigorous trainer: Fitzroland is very demanding in drilling his men, known to relentlessly train them in close combat fighting from dawn till dusk. Thus all men in his unit have WS 3.
