This
article is an attempt to provide some personal experience and reflections
concerning the use of miniatures from other manufacturers as alternatives to
Games Workshop’s Bretonnians. It thereby hopefully addresses two Round Table of
Bretonnia forums on this topic (see Check
out these miniatures and Early
Bretonnian army).

There are more interviews at The Warvault coming up.
From Angron (The Warvault):
STEVEN SAVILE in a LIVE CHATROOM INTERVIEW!
Sunday September 30th at 8:30pm GMT
(9:30pm mainland Europe; 03:30pm US Eastern)
What exactly is Steven Savile's big 'secret project'? What
else has the celebrated author of the Von Carstein trilogy got in store
for us lucky readers?
Once again, Warvault has, through the many powers of Voodoo and
hypnosis, managed to convince a Black Library author to join us in a
Live Webchat, held right here. As ever, we won't be thinking up the
questions; you will! And you'll be sitting right there as we ask them
on your behalf, so you can discuss the answers given with your fellow
fans. Cool, or what?
Join us on Sunday the 30th of September around 8:30pm GMT at Warvault's
Interview Index and get in on the fun - as ever, please bring your own drinks, snacks, and sacrificial offerings.
Help us spread the word, too! Spam this ad wherever your website wanderings may take you (ask the local law-man first, though).
PS; Just like last time, we will be releasing the details for the next BL author to be interrogated at the end of the interview...

Ever found yourself meticulously
equipping your general so that he can thwart everything from a
gazillion goblins to a greater demon, only to realise you have no
points left for the rest of your army or that his unit got shot to
pieces in the first turn. For me the problem was not that my general
was defeated in combat, in fact this very rarely happens to me, but
rather that in virtually every single game I play, he gets run down.
Now although this is probably just my atrocious luck, I have
discovered if you try to avoid placing all your eggs in one basket or
placing all your hopes on one unit, you end up with an army that
functions like a hydra – cut one head off and the rest snip you to
pieces. And so in my article I am going to explore the wonders of
keeping things cheap.

One early misty morning sir Hengist Korraine arrived at the village of Bairitz. . . . on foot. His horse and unfortunatly drowned in the River Niveau. As he walked thru the village he noticed a crowd of villagers gathered around a fisherman near the tower: "I kid you not there are dark beings on the river. I heard a roar which sounded like a whole graveyard of tortured souls and I saw a strange ship on the river. Dark and jagged it was with cold cruel laughter coming from it. We are doomed I tell you, this is the end of us. Flee, flee I tell you."
Before the fisherman started running Sir Hengist Korraine spoke up: " If you flee it will be the death of all of you. Rather light the signal fire upon the tower and call the men to arms. I Sir Hengist Korraine will help you defeat this terrible enemy"
The peasants stared at him as if he were an angel: " Staring wont help. Man that trebuchet, set the stakes, hurry for our enemies are upon us soon!"
"Sgt. Jasper Carrot and the Badwall M@A reporting for duty sah."
"Tell me Sgt. Carrot who holds Badwall and when can we expect relief?"
"Whoo I dunno sir. Lord Ysgarran is off questing but her lady Hekate is in charge. We are hoping that Arsen and his Mntd. Yeomen are near too."
"Well it looks like we gonna have to win this one on our own. Skirmish bowmen on the rrright Flank . . . ."

Our community has had a great time so far and there are exciting times ahead! Roughly two years ago, the Round Table of Bretonnia opened its gates as successor of the famous meeting place Earl Cadfael's Bretonnian Army. As such, expectations in the new site were surely high, and I hope we could meet all. New interactive features like our very own Message Board, user galleries and user-contributes stories made this place unique, and the numbers of registered Knights and Ladies rose every day
Later, when Chateaux Montrefort was under siege and fell, many knights found a new home and refuge here, and The Round Table of Bretonnia surely became the best Bretonnian location out on the net - it would not be possible without the contribution of every single member!
And today, after being online for two years, we have more than 1600 members, with the number increasing daily.
But, enough history, let the celebrations begin! The following month we will all celebrate that anniversary, regularly check this article (quick link at the Jubilee Seal at the top) and the corresponding forum thread for further announcements.
