Description:
As he gazed across the devastation before him he finally admitted to himself that all was lost. Cumbri lay in ruins its people slaughtered and its lands defiled by the evil creatures of the world. Even worse it seemed that Bretonnia itself was lost. Louen had ridden off with most of the realms remaining Knights leaving only a handful to try and stem the tide, they had failed. Suddenly a fay mist arose across the battle field and all sounds were dulled. A being of immense power appeared before him and he fell to his knees. He knew this being, she had bestowed upon him her blessing once before at the end of his quest. “My loyal servant Charles, it is time that you quit these lost lands. Take as many as will follow you and head for the Estalian coast. There you will find the remains of the Tilean trading fleets. You must convince them to take you to Rheged, it is our only hope now.) With that he set off with his last few remaining knights, gathering peasants to their banner and fighting their way to the coast.
The voyage was wrought with perils and strife but eventually they arrived at their destination and began to settle along the banks of the Deer Whent….
And so begin the chronicles of Charles Marchand, Lord Caerluel, 4th Marquis de Cumbri, Duc de Rheged, Castellan of Caer Curwen, beloved of the Lady, Defender of the faithful and living saint.
