Description:
Here's the latest development work on my Medieval Hall terrain piece using Hirst Arts Fantasy Architecture Moulds.
You can see that I've painted the floor.
The walls are now built up to the level at which the floor beams for the first floor will be located.
The next stage will be to add:
1. the great fireplace (which you can see in the background of some of the pictures), including a 'blazing log fire';
2. the internal walls and timber frame work;
3. the widows and doors;
4. paint the internal wall surfaces;
I shall be writing an article about this for the Modelling Articles section later on this year, so I'll cover all the details and techniques used then.

wow I really like this project! Ive always wanted to do a tavern scene rather like this- with the log fire, the odd man at arms around the place, people drinking and relaxing etc, I thought of details like shields on the walls, and weapons leaning in the corner and having various barrels and crates stacked......
I really look forward to seeing the article on the details and techniques used!
Ive never heard of hirst arts moulds, perhaps you could enlightenen me with some details?
yours humbly, Boris.

I have collected a fairly large range of his moulds, over the course of a couple of years, which allow me to produce a pretty wide and varied choice of buildings and terrain pieces.
I'm pleased that you like the idea of the Medieval Hall, which is comling along very well.
I'll posting up some more pictures of the latest stages of its development.
