Hobby - Modelling

Here is my step-to-step project of building two Trebuchets for the use in my Bretonnian Army. One is going to be loaded, the other one has just fired. The results are available in the Gallery.

I don't like the original from GW much, being not even bigger than a cavalry model! The first inspiration came from this picture, I am trying to stay as close to that as possible. More background information about the functionality of a Trebuchet and many pictures can be found on Wikipedia.

Literature - The Tragic Tale of Lady Si'anelle of Avelorn

It is said that beside the pool named 'Despairing' within the Forest of Avelorn there does dwell a great toad...." The Elf lady did lower her lashes, her unpleasant smile hidden from Si'anelle's sight as she did continue to address her companions. "It is also said that this great toad does possess a pearl of peerless size and beauty. And should any of pure intent risk the dangers of the forest, asking of the toad to gift the pearl to them, the toad will give of it. So long as the pearl shall be a gift to another and the name of the one chosen to receive the pearl be spoken with an honest heart."

6th Edition RulebookWarhammer is a game of fantasy battles in which the players paint large armies of model soldiers and then use them to play out battles against each other. The player who inflicts the most casualties is most often the winner. The game simulates movement, combat, shooting and magic spells with a system of game turns, phases and die rolls. There is plenty of opportunity for strategy, tactics and luck. The game also opens the gates of a complete hobby where you will want to collect and paint a lot of models. The game is produced by Games Workshop, a British games company that also sells several other games (including the similar Warhammer 40,000). Games Workshop also publishes a monthly magazine called White Dwarf that has a lot of invalueable information for any Warhammer player. Warhammer is currently in its 6th edition and it is wise to check that any supplements or models bought are compatible with these latest rules.

The messengers arrived at dawn, sparking a flurry of activity in the castle. Sir François cancelled his planned hunting trip and started making arrangements. Messangers had to be sent out, nobles assembled, everything must be in order for the visit of the Duke. However, François suspected that the Duke's visit was not just a courtesy call. This was too sudden, too urgent. Something was happening, and he suspected he could put a name to it - Heinrich Kemmler.
