Recent bot attack 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Some among you may have noticed the vast array of ads popping up every other minute for the last couple of hours, but fear not!
The foe is vanquished!

Gallant Uther led the charge on this one, leaving us less heroic sheriffs to finish off the odd mortally wounded thread as it lay dying in the wake of his advance

Probably not, probably related to the site objecting to some random combination of characters within your post, I've seen several members (alongside myself) encounter it sporadically.

And lo, the bots were vanquished beneath the lances of the valiant and the blades of the virtuous.

1. To say (something) with due consideration or thought.
2. To wander about, usually aimlessly

The word "LCD" has now been added to the blacklist, if your post contains words from that list then you'll be automatically blocked for a few minutes.
It's unfortunate but since we are usually targeted by the same handful of bot groups with similar keywords it's the best we have.

I was trying to post this in the "Brother Hood" fluff thread:
...an army of deadly archers, resplendent knights, and sturdy men-at-arms. They wander the realms in search of a new home ...

Thanks Uther! You really fought of the vermin tide valiantly!
Meanwhile, I talked to our gatekeepers and they will be more vigilant. That is, the blacklist of spam-related keywords grew once more.
Tertius, is there a specific error like "406 Not Acceptable" or similar that you encountered? I can then look up the reason in the logs. The blacklist is systematic though, if you were now able to post that sentence then it's not these specific characters that were offensive.

Is this word: ( dictionary link ) on the blacklist?
That was apparently the troublesome word...
Almost as bad as:
Ni!

Ecky-ecky-ecky-ecky-pikang-zoop-boing-goodem-zoo-owli-zhiv
-or-
It.
