King Loueon
He seems pretty good under these new rules.

Pegasus Knights seem really good

Questing Knights bonus vs. monsters

Trebuchet's seem good vs. units of 10+, but not sure how useful they are under the new rules.

Jut some initial impressions from trial gameplay, but mobility seems like a critical factor in the new game. Our knights are fast, and that gives s choices. The ability to retire from combat means we can cycle charges, hitting something, retiring, charging with something else, etc.

Am I missing something, or are Pegasus knights the best unit we have now?
Also I'm greatly annoyed thay they didn't take the opportunity to make grail knights better than kotr +1
Putting them on par (or at least comparable) to their rivals the blood knights seems like a wasted chance

Fireymonkeyboy
Cycling charges does seem a good Tactic.

TemplarofSigismund
The Peg Knights seem the best of the three options in the defenders of the realm Battalion.

One thing I found in the Battalion at the end of the Bretonnian Scroll.

Defenders of the Realm
Can take one unit of Grail Knights, Pegasus Knights or Questing Knights.

I have never played 40k so here are some questions that have arisen for Age of Sigmar.
1. Can you shoot into combats?
2. Can you overlap bases of different models?

Sir Percival... yes to both

There are no base measurements. Its all done from the models, and nowhere does it say you can or cannot overlap bases. I've done it in my game, and seen other reports also do it. There's minimal rules on shooting. It just says within range, During shooting phase, and line of sight. You can't shoot if you ran or fled. So you can move and shoot and then even charge. You can shoot point blank in the middle of melee, no mention of engaged in combat or minimal range, and no charge reactions.
If we're not fighting then we are probably drinking.

Played a game against some Orcs yesterday. Personally, I found that out knights were stronger on post-charge combats than they had been in the old game (especially if you take advantage of the masses cavalry rule, and the fact that horses have 2 attacks).

I hadn't noticed the repeated charge rule, how do I do that?

Thanks Wiegraf.

So lets assume AoS becomes competitive at some stage and Tournaments are run.

You have your beautifully painted models and then play a few games with the piling in and base overlaps wrecking the scenic bases you have spent hours perfecting.

Chanson de geste
Swooping Charge: The Peg knights get to pile in and charge twice on the turn they charge which seems pretty powerful to me.

However they may still have a bit of trouble punching through armor.

Base Overlap? Does that actually mean bases on top of another? Sure not.
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

Indeed, Sir Dirtywolf, that some players take advantage of the model to model rules to stack their base on another's but most I've seen stick to just touching bases.

If you must deal with such players then perhaps having banners sticking out around the model with a detailed base to avoid that trick?

A question regarding that actual, can the foe pile in if your model is surrounded by allies, such as being ranked up?

Re:Age of Sigmar 1 Year, 10 Months ago
They can pile in if they're within 3", but they've still got to be able to reach past the models. For example a Prophetess ranked up in a unit of Knights could be shot out, but if someone wants to hit her in combat they need reach (like a Giant).

Stacking model bases onto opponents models - no thanks. That is asking for damage.

There's generally no reason to do so, since you measure from the tip of the model. Basically if you're stacking onto someone else's bases you're just being a jerk.

Re:Age of Sigmar 1 Year, 10 Months ago
Touching bases seems a fairer way to play especially with the OP Iron Guts from the Ogre army. This way less of them could pile in after all they are doing 3 wounds per model that successfully hits.

Re:Age of Sigmar 1 Year, 10 Months ago
Who is going to do this? Seriously? If you're actually playing against someone who's going to try it, just indicate that they have a successful charge, and ask them to to trash your bases. Why is this even a topic of conversation? Who acts like this?

I can see people doing this if it gives an advantage. I would not play anyone who does this.
