Web statistics

More detailed statistics can be infered from analyzing the webserver access logs. Used below are the logs starting from January 2008 until today.

Monthly unique visitors:

months.png

You can clearly see the trend here - more and more unique visitors are coming to the Round Table! One week remaining in May causes the apparent decline for this month.

Visitors by weekday:

For some reason Bretonnians prefer Sundays and the start of the week.

Visitors by hour (all times in server time (UTC)):

hours.png

Afternoon and night times in Europe, mornings in the US seem to be the preferred time to browse the site.

Referrers:

Within the logged time, 14696 hits originated through Google search results. Interestingly, we are search result #1 if you google Bretonnia. If you use a more specific search query, we even get a sub-pages index in the results! 5690 hits came in through the Warvault webring.

Interesting number, too bad portugal isn't there

A lot of interesting information.

I also now know when to post updates in my log to get the most views ...

Also good to see Mousillon's near the top of the list of armies! Obviously a lot of people choose the most interesting duchy as their army origin. (Yes, I'm prejudiced.)

I don't see how 'none' or 'no answer' was taken into account though.
Re:The census of the Round Table May 26 2008 15:15
:: shrugs:: Who knows. But I think this is rather neat.

It is always funny to see one of the smallest countries in the world top the big ones: Belgium beats France, home of chivalry!

On second thought the reason is actually pretty simple: chauvenistic French want to read French.

Thank you for taking the time to write up those parameters, Gisoreux!

Americans have the highest registrants; however, you don't see that translation on the forums.

For once I had nothing to do with it; all credit goes to the Good German.

Wow, now there's even a movie about me (talking of which... are there gonna be more movie reviews from you?)

Well, not at all, that's why I did not include any percentages or pie charts. For the country, there are 805 entries, for the dukedom 553. The remainder of members either did not fill it, or chose "none".

Oh, and here's another interesting number: There are totally 49705 forum posts in 4933 topics.

If you wish...

And this is why I like statistics, you can learn so much from them:

  • The top four nations are all former Commonwealth nations and belong to the British-American world. New Zealand is a proud 13th former member.

  • The next big group is the so-called Germanic languages like German, Dutch and so on. A possible explanation is that English is also part of this group and easily accessible to us.

  • The Romanic languages however like Italian and French seem to have more reluctancy towards Warhammer Bretonnia even though Bretonnia is a France-inspired army.

  • Shame that there are few former Eastern Bloc countries: probably a different way of life plus not as wealthy as Western Europe and North America countries.
  • Re:The census of the Round Table May 29 2008 01:31
Sweden has always been fairly strong, for some reason. Of course, that's where Earl Cadfael came from and (IIRC) Abbot Rhoderic.
