At this point I'll try to find solution to dragon problems.
I always had a problems with dragon which avoided confrontation with my heroes and fly around my units, use their breath weapon and in the moment of CC charge from back or rear to my knights unit.
Meantime they always been putted on such position where my heroes/lord couldn't catch them.
Out of LOS or out of charge range.
Because dragons can fly and are Monster units that no waste movement points for changing direction, it was very difficult to catch them.
Untill now that is.
Thx to this forum and many good people I found solution which I want to share with you.

Heroes

First we need create hero/lord which is able to kill dragon after he catch it.We need two characters for it.One can be shoot down by magic or artillery or just bad luck from arrows.

Because Hippo are large target putting Lord on him will expose entire model to any range attack that enemy can throw at him so Pegasus.

Lets start.

Lord

Lord + Pegasus + Grail Vow + Virtue od Audacity + Sword Of the Lady's Champion + Gromil Great Helm + Shield - Total 301 Points

AS 3+ and reroll plus 5+ Ward save against dragon. Always reroll on HIT and Reroll on wound. Hit on 4+ with Rerols will give 3 HITS per round. 3+ wound with reroll will affect 2-3 Wounds per round. S7 and no AS for dragon.

In return Dragon and enemy lord will try to kill pegasus to get better CR. But if we put BSB nearby our lord should pass all test and kill dragon in 2-3 rounds Lord with this combo can always fight with other monsters.

Hero

Hero + Pegasus + Virtue of heroism + shield and Lance should be able to do it but he is vulnerable and will do nothing against other targets.

Ok You can use other combos if You like it was just example. The points is that to catch the dragon in CC on our terms.

Decoy

First we can build big unit that he will think worth to kill asap but still it can be attack from behind. We can hope that our unit will survive long enough to get help from other units or characters.
I think this is not good idea. I prefer MSU tactics.
Dragon will try to fly around them and use breath in hope to make panic tests on them.

To do this we need QK and GK on one flank and KE/KotR on the other flank.
If we put Damsel in KE or KotR he will find hard to not put his dragon behind them and breath or just terror them.
On the flank with GK we should put both our flying characters and PK if we have them.
Then the dragon will have no choice but to fly to KE flank.
This risk at that plan. Our unit may panic and we will loose at least 300 points for free.
After he put his dragon behind our units he is dead.

A trap

1. First we use Falcon Horn to ground him.
2. Next we close our units to each other that the dragon cannot use his ground move to slip between them.

We have to be sure to put at least one unit close enough to prevent him from double move.

3. Next we put our characters

First 7" behind the dragon that he cannot see them. Our 20" fly move against his 6" of ground move will prevent dragon from moving out of our charge range.
If we put them closer we risk that he will put dragon behind them in his 6" ground move and he will be out of LOS.

Second more than 12" in front of the dragon but less than 13"

Next round he cannot slip between our units because there is no space for him and he cannot run out of our charge.

Dragon has two Choices:

 1. Charge or units he can see in hope to kill as many of our brave knighs before he dies or
2. wait for our charge.

We can do 2 things to prevent the charge.
1. We can move in our previous round all units dragon can charge out of his range (it could be difficult because of other enemy units in the front of them)
2. We can move them out of his LOS.

Both cases could be impossible to do.

Charge

Now is the time we charge dragin with our flying characters and maybe with PK unit.

Why PK? PK with Banner and musician will give us +2 CR (banner and outnumber) and our lord or hero will challenge and take care of dragon. With that help and 2-3 wounds per round to dragon he should survive no more than two CC rounds and flee.

It will be hard for dragon and lord to inflict 5-6 Wound to pegasus and lord at one turn.

Feel free to comment this.

This article is not how to win entire battle nor how to build army but only how to force dragon to fight on our terms.
