Knights from all over Bretonnia as well as our allies from Athel Loren and the lands of the Empire are invited to join in the celebrations of the second anniversary of the Round Table of Bretonnia in traditional Bretonnian style - with a joust!

The jousting competition will follow the rules for Full Tilt as given on the Games Workshop website, where details of the relevant virtues and the jousting ploys can be found. Additionally, you may choose to enter as an Imperial Knight (+1 armour save due to wearing Full Plate Armour) or as a Wood Elf Knight (+1 WS but -1 armour save).

However, the competition will depart from Full Tilt in that it will be a knock-out competition rather than a single round of jousint followed by the Tableau de Bataille. The number of rounds will be dependant on the number of entries received, if that is not a simple multiple of two then it may be necessary to give byes to some competitors.

The closing date for entries will be Monday the 15th of October. Please submit your entry using the Entry Form.

*realizes that a Jousting Tounament is WAAAAAy better than converting to Slannesh*
*face explodes because of the grin*

SWEET! I finally get to participate in a Jousting Tourny! And my first one ever, and my first joust ever (except for against myself...)

Sir Gilles
EDIT (2 reasons):1. Umm, I messed up on my Sign-Up for the joust, is there a way I can change it???
2.I just realized that THIS post made me a Paragon... lol.

You've obviously never converted to Slaanesh, my friend.

...

Seriously, I suppose jousting is better than Slaanesh, but not by much. A lance stuck through the side of your head is technically better than eternal damnation and torment at the hands of the infinitely sadistic Darkling Prince, but frankly, I'd rather avoid both.

Who said that it was ever gonna get stuck in my head? Maybe glance off, but I signed as a Wood Elf. I have no helm. I have incredible speed that would make your eyes hurt...

Sir Gilles
P.S. I have never (and probably never will, as I still have yet to start an 'evil' army, I have Lizardmen, Bretts, and Wood Elves, and possible High Elves after next Christmas...)

Maybe I misunderstood, but Imperial knights gain +1 AS and can take the virtues? Is that not a bit... unfair?

Edit: seems like I did misunderstood, saw the entry form now.

How does the jousting system actually work at the Round Table - I mean how are things worked out. Excuse my ignorance!

Right question! In any case, I am in.

You know I'm up for this. Not much more to say, I'll check out the details after
Re:The Anniversary Jousting Competition Sep 26 2007 14:46
It's the 'Full Tilt' jousting rules, from WD 215, as since modified on the GW webpage to bring them (more) in line with the new army book. The rules are linked from the article. I'll be rolling the dice and then posting a description of what happens, just as with Arenas of Honour/Death.

You choose 'Wood Elf' or 'Imperial' from the same menu as the virtues (and
'Knight Errant', so you don't get to be an Imperial Knight with +1 AS and get the virtues.

If you need to amend your entry, then please make a second entry and note in the 'description' section at the bottom of the form that it is an amended entry.

The jousting is done with blunted weapons, so there are fairly long odds on actually receiving a lance through the side of the head!

Will the organizers be rolling for Lady's favors? Or is there a standard for everyone?
There are too many comments to list them all here. See the forum for the full discussion.
