Welcome to the first Arena of Death (AoD) to be played at the Round Table. This is similar to the Arena of Honour we have had in the past, but is based more closely on the rules used at other WHFB sit.es. The rules are simple and fun. Sign up here!
The AoD is great fun to take part in. for those of you who think it will be time consuming, I can only say it is if you want it to be. We will be doing some Role Playing, but it is not required in the least. If you have always wanted to try some Role Playing then join up and give it a try as the Role Playing is not required. AoD is slightly misleading; we will not be killing each other but rather fighting to the yield. Death can still occur as accidents do happen, and we may have those who enter the arena with less then honorable intent. If you are one with less then honorable intent send a PM to Jean and Pervavita saying as much so that it may be reflected in your match. Also if you wish it to be obvious or subtle.
Only one character per person for now. Don't post your characters, make them and hold on to them. PM your character to Jean Marcel l Impeteux. Do not send a PM of your character to me (pervavita) as I will be choosing the fighting order and I want to make my decision with as little to no bias as possible. This is taking place in the lands of Bretonnia and daemons will be killed on sight; they are left in the rules here in case you wish to use this with friends. If you have any questions, feel free to ask here.
Hear are the rules (also posted on the thread).
1) No special characters.
2) Single wound mounts only.
3) Against Incantations/the Bands of Power, you get 1 dispel dice (2 if you're a dwarf or have the Mark of Khorne). The Bands are the only permitted bound items.
4) Killing blow on a 4+ the target is slain, on 1-3 they are reduced to one wound'
5) These are banned:
Tress of Isolde
Sword of Fate
Van Horstmann's Speculum
The Daemon Sword
The Fellblade
The Bane Head
The Grudge Rune
The Talisman of Saphery
Kurbog's Curmudgeonly Klobbera
Annoyance of Netlings
6) These are changed:
Virtue of Confidence: replaced with 2 virtues.
Virtue of Striking-30 pts; re-role failed to hits
Virtue of Precision-30 pts; re-role failed to wounds
don't diss my names for these.
"Gaze of the Gods - same points cost, before the battle roll a D6 - 1 = you get a 6+ ward, 2-3 = you get a 5+ ward, 4-6 = you get a 4+ ward. Such is the fickle nature of chaos.
Warpstone amulet - same points cost, but roll to see if you die BEFORE the fight instead of afterwards."
7) Equalisers (rezephua wording)
-Tomb Kings can cast their incantation "smiting" (+1 attack) twice.
-Skaven Warlords and Empire characters who do not take the Runefang may go up to 20pts over their magic item limit providing that they do not exceed 250pts in total.
-Von Carstein and Lahmian vampires get 35pts extra ' they may not exceed their magic item limit
-Strigoi and Blood Dragon vampires get 25pts extra ' they may not exceed their magic item limit
-Wood Elf Highborns get 20pts extra - they may not exceed their magic item limit
-Daemon characters get 40pts extra ' they may not exceed their magic item limit
-Chaos characters can take the marks of Tzeentch and Slaanesh for free.
Cool No magic item point limit, all other limits apply (i.e one weapon, talisman etc)
9) 300pts limit.
This is meant to be fun so please do have fun. We will take 16 entries minimum but would like 32 for a much more fun and challenging game. We are Bretonnians and what Knight can turn down a fun challenge against their peers?
