A border patrol against Vampire Counts, as Sir Ferran of the Templars Du Lac scouts the way towards Littleton.

Anyways here goes:

The first encounter.

The Battle field:
The board used was half of a normal board, as the rules for border patrols were in session for this brief game.
Layout: The lush green grass covered the field. On the north side (enemy deployment zone) a large hill rose up on the left side of the table to reach down into a lush patch of wood. While on the south a hill was located on the right with an old fence of a former settlement that stretched out towards the middle of the field, just beyond it.

Bretonnian border patrol:
1 Paladin (Sir Arthur) – Barded warhorse, Knight’s vow, Sword of Battle +1 A (101points)
5 Knights of the Realm – Standard bearer. (136 points)
5 Questing Knights – Standard bearer (158points)
15 Peasant Bowmen – Skirmish (105 points)
Total : 500

Vampire scouts:
Necromancer (Velan’Kom) – Lvl 2 (100 points)
10 Skeletons – (80 points)
10 Zombies – (60 points)
8 Fell bats – (160 points)
1 Banshee – (90 points)
Total: 490

As Sir Ferran spotted the foul enemy while on scouting ahead towards Littleton, he ordered his knights to pray to the lady for luck in the battle.

VC Turn 1
Velan’Krom saw how the knights in their shining armor, dismounted their steeds and sank to their knees in the distance. With the peasants seemingly heading towards the hill off to the right side, he quickly dispatched his fell bats to scare and hunt down the wretched servants of the light. With a single thought he sent the Zombies and skeletons slowly rumbling forward, intent on wreacking as much damage as possible, while the banshee circled off towards the left seeking cover behind the hill and woods. Taking the words of dark magic in his mouth, new skeletons rose from the ground, breaking free from the soil to strengthen his own troops.

Brett turn 1
With the prayer to the lady done and over with, Sir Ferran mounted his trusted steed once more and saw the abominations slowly make their way towards his own troops. Skelletons and Zombies directed by the foul Necromancer who was hiding behind his own ranks. With a nod he sent his own squad of knights forward, as the Sir Luc DuChance the leader of the group of Questing knights, called out that he would break through the Zombies on the left in hopes to reach the Necromancer.
None of the knights cared nor saw how the archers blinked and saw how the sky turned dark as bats swarmed towards them.
The peasants knew they could not fail their noble lords and loosed a volley of arrows that managed to kill off two of the bats, that continued their approach without halt.
