This is my first posting of a battle report in this forum. Now that I know what to do when it comes to writing reports, I will include pictures, etc.

This tournament was a 3 round RTT. It started out VERY well, then the second game was probably one of the worst that I have ever played in(You'll read about it...), and I finished strong crushing the WAAAAAGH!

This was the list that I brought:

Lord, sword of quest, gauntlet, VoC in with questing knights
BSB, Gromril helm, sword of might in with realm knights
Damsel, 2 scrolls in with realm knights
Damsel, silver mirror in with questers

6 Errants, Full command
6 Errants, Full command
8 Realm, Full Command (BSB goes here)
8 Realm, Full Command (Damsel 1 goes here)
7 Questing Knights, Full Command (Lord and Damsel go here)
20 M@A, Full Command
3 Peg Knights
5 Mounted Squires, Musician
5 Mounted Squires, Musician

Game 1...Tomb Kings

High Lich Priest w/ cloak and Jar
Tomb Prince on foot
Lich Priest mounted w/ staff that does 3d6 st. 2 hits.
2 x 25 archers
30 HW
scorpion
2 swarms
Bone Giant
7 heavy horsemen

He deployed both units of archers in a line right i the middle of the table. From my point of view, his unit of 8 heavy hosemen w/ the lich priest was on the table edge to the right, his bone Giant was on the right... behind the archers, then a unit of 30 skeletons with HW in the middle-ish of the 2 units of archers but still behind them, then off on the left behind the other unit of archers was his scorpion and 2 swarms. His Prince was in the unit of 30, and his HLP was in with the screaming skull catapult with skulls of the foe.

I put 2 units of errants on my flanks, with the Pegs on my far left. the M@A on the right with questers then on my left were both units of realm knights.

I pray, he goes first, dosen't move and here come the arrows. I save everything on my side. He magics for the shooting and catapult, and burn 1 scroll. I still have the silver mirror and another scroll left and 4 dispell dice for each round. I let the arrows go, because he is rolling horribly. His heavy horsemen move into my errants charge range, and now he needs to reform his unit of 25 on the left of my battle line because I'm comming in with 2 lances. The errants kill the lich priest in a challenge(No champion), and I popp that unit. The other side is left to two skeletons from the double charge, which is ok. I move my M@A up ready to charge his other unit of archers with my questing knights. He moves his prince in with this unit. His bone giant magically charges my errants in the flank, and kills the unit of 6 to a man. That's ok, the bone giant is out the rest of the game...I positioned squires to keep him occupied out there.

I take my Peg knights to the catapult, and his HLP runs out before the charge...Bye Bye catapult. His scorpion get's charged by my errants on the right, and I overun into the flank of the 2 skeletons left from the double charge.

Brining both realm lances around, he tries to turn his 30 HW to face them, but he forgot about my 9 questing knights in his flank. All 3 charge, and decimate his unit. All that's left is the Giant, which I track down with my questing knights and destroy it.

Total masacar....18 out of 18 total pts. 15 for a victory, and other bonuses for killing general, etc.

His whole theme was to sit back and shoot. Which I can understand, but with my 2 scrolls and silver mirror, I was on him quicker that he anticipated. He also didn't concentrate his shooting.

Oh well. 1-0 for the Bretts.......

Game 2....Dark Elves

Seeing what was on the otherside of the table, I was a little miffed, but I knew that since he was fast, I would have to play a tactical game here. 3 units of 7 dark riders, 4 chariots, 2 units of 10 Cold ones and a Highborn on manticore

I deployed, starting on my right to left:

Realm, Questers, Errants on my right, M@A in the middle with the Realm w/ the BSB, then on my left errants, squires and peg knights.

He deploys from my right to left:

10 cold ones, chariot, chariot, Lord on manticore. Middle is Dark riders x2, chariot and on my far left 10 cold ones, dark riders and chariot.

He let's me go first...I move up but stay out of his charge range. No shooting, and magic is abismal. His turn, his cold ones on my right go stupid and stumble up, his dark riders mive up to bait me to charge, with his chariots behind(Normal Dark Elf Trick). He shoots at my squires, and desimated both units...That's fine, I can deal with that.

Turn 2, I charge his cold ones with 9 realm knights, then position my questers on an angle just incase someone wants to flank my realm knights, and move up the errants behind the questers. The other side moves up, and I charge his Dark riders with my Pek knights which he stands and shoots. 1 Peg dies on the charge(2 left). Realm knights do NO hits.....and in turn take 5 wounds...5 ones...I couldn't believe it...I charged! He outnumbers me and cause fear, I run and he catches me, and hits the flank of my Questers...

My middle does not fair well either, as 6 are picked off in the BSB unit due to shooting and I cannot roll a 2 to save my life, and the Pek knights whiff their attacks.

My turn...his cold ones on my right roll through my questers, and make the errants run off the board. The middle unit charges a chariot, and I do no wounds to him, while his cold one does 2 wounds to me. I cannot save, he wins and runs me down. My errants on my left get shot to peices while my M@A take 2 chariots...Not good!

Turn 3, both my opponent and I know the game is over, but I told him I'd keep playing so he could get some bonuses for his overall score. He thanked me, and he wiped me out to a man. Well...I guess that's what happens when you loose 3 lances by turn 2.

Frustrating!

Bretts are now 1-1, and I got a loss, which was 5 pts, but a negative 1 because I didn't reduce any of his units to below 1/2 strength. Also, my Lord who I built to challenge because of my whole fluff and background did not get to enter in any challenges for the second game. He also was run down due to getting it in the flank.

Total Pts so far is 22.

Game 3...last but not least...'Ard Boys

3 Huge units of 3 black orcs. Lord and the BSB in the middle unit and 1 character in each flanking unit. They all had Great Weapons, so even the champion is st. 7...OUCH!

He also had 2 bolt throwers, stone thrower, and 1 unit of 5 orcs on boars. He also had an effergy, and each standard in the Black Orc units have a bound spell.

He deploys with the 3 units right in the middle. With a bolt thrower on each side, while the boars are on his far right flank.

I deploy with my M@A in the middle, flanked by Questers, and Realm w/ BSB, the other unit of 9 that crapped the bed in game 2 against the DE were on the right, with 1 unit of Errants near the table edge on my right, with the Peg knights, both squire units and the other errants on my left.

He goes first and moves up, while I move my left errants and squires in charge range of his Bolt thrower, and the Peg knighte get ready to charge the Orc Boars.

On my right, I bring the Realm and errants ready for some flanking.

He moves into my charge range for all my stuff.

I charge the bolt thrower with my squires...Thank YOU for the snotlings at WS2!! I beat them, and overun into the stone thrower. The Peg knights hit the boars, and beat them in combat. All that is left is the 3 HUGE units of Black Orcs, which I'm trying to maneuver to get at his flanks.
My Questers and Realm on the right charge his BO's on his left, while my BSB and the Realms on the left charge his BO's on his right. I move the M@A up to occupy his middle block with his lord.

He flees with his unit on the left which leaves my Questers in charge range, but the realm are out of his range. I move my errants up knowing I was going to get charged in the next turn, and hoping I could hold out on his charge.

He charges with his Lords and BSB's unit. I challenge with my lord. He has the Ironskin shield and the no armour save club. He hits me all 4 times and wounds me 3. I save 1 thanks the LADY! I attack back and do 2 wounds on him. TIE! I knew that because I have a great sword, he would be killing me next round. He wiffed and killed just 1 guy from his BO's charge. I HELD!!!!!
Next round, into the flank go the errants! Kill 5, and he kills my lord, but I win in combat, and he runs. I catch him, and slam into his other unit on his right. His left unit that fled got charged in the rear by the Peg knights, and with the 20 inch charge, he could not get out of the charge range so I catch that unit and he calls the game. He has one unit that I'm hitting in the flank, and front left.

We tally up the score, and I come out with 16pts....15 for the win, and 3 for modifyers...BUT, because I lost in a challenge, they subtracted -2 from the score for an extra modifyer..

Total battle score for the tournament was 38. I came in 6th place going 2-1. I got full scores for Sports, and Comp. Totalling my score to 83. Winner was 98.

I think that I could have done better if it wasn't for that 1 charge......It's funny how 1 small thing can change the tournament for you.
